bacon , 2 egg , 2 cheese sandwich

there is nothing better in the morning than a warm cup of

coffee & a great breakfast to start off the day .

I have always wanted to try glorifying the classic 

bacon , egg , & cheese - so this morning I tried my own 

twist on the original .

I have a new found love for fried eggs that I've never had before .

my taste buds really have changed as I've gotten older ... when I was 

younger I would have never had a runny yolk .

I wanted the runny yolk I deplored in my teenage years on my 

bacon , egg , & cheese this morning but it needed something to hold on 

to being that it would run all over the bread - thus adding 1 scrambled egg 

to my sandwich as a base .

fried egg , & a couple slices of monterey jack cheese ]

you know the saying , " out with the old , in with the new " ?

in respect to my new apartment , I found that the saying has been reversed .

in with the old , out with the new .

I threw out many things I had recently boughten & accumulated ,

& kept the simple classics I have held on to over time or 

inherited from my mom .

the simple things in my apartment really do make me the happiest ,

here are some examples of the little treasures in my new home 

that are actually the oldest :

[ fortune I've saved for at least two years that I hope

will continue to guide me in my future ]

[ heart boxes I've had for as long as I can remember ]

[ my mom's old throw fits perfectly in my reading room ]

[ joey's old house plant we replanted into a chic white pot ]

[ my mom's wicker tray I turned into a sort of catch-all ]

a lucky rabbit foot from my dad ]

spring break staples

there's one week left until I leave ny and head off to warm beaches ,

frozen drinks , & a much needed suntan .

the week before vacation is always anxiety ridden -  I am so beyond

excited to get away but yet am filled with all the 

necessary pre - vacation jitters 

( a . k . a making sure I have vacation worthy clothes )

happiness is ...

since the entire past week has revolved around 

moving into the new space , 

this week's happiness post is the apartment edition .

though the apartment seems like it is already bursting at the seams with 

my wardrobe , joey & I have found successful ways 

to organize the space we have & I am so happy with the outcome .

here are some things that have made me smile over the 

past week :

[ swedish meatballs at ikea ... seriously amazing ]

[ k cup that lets you use your own coffee grinds instead of buying

packs - so much easier ]

[ sloppy but incredibly delicious steak sandwiches joey & I made -

skirt steak with avocado , cheddar cheese , caramelized red onion , 

& sriracha aioli sauce ]

[ bookshelf turned wardrobe from ikea ]

goat cheese & teriyaki pizza

one of my favorite pizzas of all time comes from world pie - 

a restaurant in bridgehampton , ny .

it's called mr . tang's pizza - duck , goat cheese , scallions ,

& mr . tang's teriyaki dressing .

I'm not the biggest fan of duck , so when I recreated this pizza dish 

last night , I used chicken instead . 

[ teriyaki base , chicken , caramelized red onion , mozzarella 

, goat cheese , & drizzle of teriyaki on top ]

pretty little things

hi guys !

thank the lord I finally have internet - I have been 

itching to get back to blogging .

I am so excited to get back to normalcy - 

we have been eating way too much take out & though 

I still feel quasi - hoarder - like with all of my stuff still scattered about 

the new apartment , it already feels like home .
